Good morning
everyone,
I hope you had a good Christmas and the New Year celebrations you plan
will be as good as you
wishes.
Some of us are back at work for at least 3 days.before the New Years
festivities. So I thought It to be a good opportunity to let you
know about the latest happenings in Petanque NSW.
1. As you know some of you will be competing in the
next Triples Championships in Melbourne on 17/18 February next year .
We have been asked by PA ( refer to PA memo of 21/12/06) to
co-ordinate the registration documents and entry fees and forward same
to PA by 31 January 2007.
I have sent this letter to all Clubs and some of the players involved
for information and action.
The League would like Club Presidents/Secretaries organise entry
fees( $ 50. per player( a cheque made payable to Petanque Australia,
per team will do), completed registration forms and forward same
to my address-5 Newhaven pl. Bateau Bay NSW 2261 , by 22/01/07
please.I will then collate the information and send it on to PA. Here

Could Hubertus Club contact France as we have not been
successful in doing so.
2. The Calendar for 2007 is attached, however we are
working on venues for some events which we will be passed on to you
early next year.
Note1. The NSW shooting championships will be held on
Saturday 10 February at a venue to be announced
Note 2: a special triples is to be organised by the League mid
March to give teams going to National Open at SA as much practice
as possible before that event..
Note 3. We are currently working on a new format and
rules for next year's Inter Club Competition
( we have received some suggestions from Clubs and the review
committee on the subject )
In the meantime, we urge your Club to consider participating in this
competition.
The 2006 competition was a success albeit with some problems which
will be addressed for the 2007 ICC.The Winning Club for 2006 was
France Petanque followed by AMA and Hubertus.
We would be pleased to receive your intention to participate in the
2007 ICC by the end of January 2007.
3.The Presentation Day held at France Petanque Club was a
great success with around 60 people attending. The absence of many of
the 2006 winners were noted and regretted by the majority present. I
take the opportunity to thank everyone who attended. Your support by
your presence was greatly appreciated by all those who put a lot of
time and effort to make it a great day for all to enjoy.A special
thanks to Robert and his committee fo a great day.
4. The response from Clubs have been unanimous in
regard to reversing the decision
to suspend the Avalon Petanque Club from the League( for 1 year) .We
will need to confirm your email vote by voting for a
resolution to rescind the motion passed at the last meeting at the
League meeting early next year. In the meantime, Neil will process the
affilaition papers.
We wish
to end this Newsletter by wishing all of you all the very
best for the New Year
